If you have seen the recent wiki activity, I have filled up the Emblem of Roto characters with pages, backgrounds and more. While reading and writing the characters, I discovered the importance of 2 characters and why it is important.
First of all, this is important because Emblem of Roto is canon to the Dragon Quest series and it also bridges a lot of gaps, although sometimes said gap is created by Emblem of Roto as well (but ultimately in favour of more depth).
Before I discuss the 2 characters, please bear in mind these are spoilers! These are specifically spoilers for Dragon Warrior/Quest I through to III and, of course, the Emblem of Roto manga.
Let me know what you think!
Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution!
The first character is Asteea, who is a descendant of Nera/Flora from Dragon Quest V and also the third child of the legend themself, Roto/Erdrick. Furthermore, she is the person who initiates the quest against Dragonlord behind the scenes. It is her castle, Tantegel, that she is taking back.
The next character is Ryūō, who if you recognise his name you will probably be curious if you haven't read the manga or his wiki page. He is the Dragonlord before he turns evil; the final boss that started it all. Not only is this a big deal for the landscape of the Erdrick trilogy, but it gets an anecdote to Dragonlord. He isn't just a power-hungry dragon, he has a reason for becoming that and was twisted during the manga.
