The Abominable Showman is a character in Dragon Quest XI.

Characteristics[]

The Showman is a beefy brawler with wild silver hair, a simple dark mask around his eyes, and red wrestling shorts with a leather belt over black trousers and red boots. He also wears pairs of belts, bracers, and rings on his arms and upper body. His tongue sticks out of his face; and he is not very bright, both of which contribute to his heavy, slobbery lisp when speaking.

Story[]

Road to Yggdrasil[]

Along with the Underdigger, the Abominable Showman registers for the annual Masked Martial Arts tournament in Octagonia and draws the Luminary and his partner Vince Vanquish in qualifying. Thanks to Vince’s unmatched skill, the pair are eliminated from competition.

The Showman is among the missing when bizarre events unfold on the eve of the awards ceremony, taken in by Arachtagon to be one of his food sources. He and the other fighters are rescued when the Luminary defeats the giant spider. What becomes of him past this point is not known.

Rise of the Lord of Shadows[]

The Showman is presumably caught in Booga’s spell over Octagonia. He becomes locked in battle with other fighters as a monster, and is once again freed when the Luminary defeats Booga.

In Search of Lost Time[]

As Calasmos rises, Arachtagon is revived as well with newfound power and ferocity. This time, he brainwashes the Showman and three other former MMA stars as part of a plan to retake Octagonia for his master. The Luminary and his party, with help from Vince, defeat Arachtagon and his new goons. Once the Showman is released, he can be recruited to rebuild the ruined Cobblestone.
