Absorb Magic is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.
Description[]
Enables a party member to recover MP each time they are targeted by an offensive spell. The recurring armor piece Glombolero sometimes has this effect for the wearer.

Making its debut, it is learned by various monster companions and level 18 for the Hero, while also being used by Silvapithecuses, Urnexpecteds, Snake handlers, and Frighturns in battle. It costs 2 MP to cast.
Dragon Quest VI[]
Absorb Magic is granted by the first rank of the Sage vocation and is also learned by recruited Feralballs at level 24 and recruited High djinkses at level 20, though only in the SNES version. It costs 2 MP to cast once again and is also used by Urnexpecteds and Frighturns in battle once again.
Dragon Quest VII[]
Any character can learn Absorb Magic after reaching rank 3 of the Djinn genie vocation, and is also a Hybrid skill of the Mage and Dancer vocations. It costs 2 MP to cast once again and is learned at rank 3 of the Mage vocation in the 3DS remake, due to Hybrid skills not being present.
Dragon Quest X[]
Absorb Magic is learned through the Armamentalist vocation at level 5 from 1.2 onwards and is used by Jiaapes and Kukulkannibal during the Strong version of its boss fight, as well as Silvapithecuses once again in battle. It costs 2 MP to cast once again.
