Albinass is an antagonist in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. She is a member of Hadlar's Orichalcum Royal Guard created using forbidden magic. She serves as the Queen and the leader of the group, second only to Hadlar himself.
Appearance[]
Albinass is a humanoid being with orichalcum skin. She wears steel robes that look like plates sewn together.
Personality[]
Out of all of Hadlar's guards, Albinass is the most serious and most committed to her lord. As the Queen of the groups it is her duty to keep the rest in line, making her laser focused on their objective. A strategist by nature, Albinass tends to think things logically and act accordingly, assessing the situation at hand and either attack or retreat as the situation demands, generally trying to see the bigger picture at all times, best seen when she correctly suggested that Zaboera was far too dangerous to have alive and was best executed. Although Hadlar decided against it out of gratitude for his surgical modification, in due time she would be proven right.
However, for all her stern and cold exterior, Albinass is far more emotional than one might think. She is easily the most loyal out of Hadlar's soldiers to the point of falling in love with him, even though she denies this. Albinass' loyalty is such that she will act in whatever way she believes will serve Hadlar's interest for the better, even if it goes against what he desires, such as ambushing Hyunckel and Baran during their duel, knowing that Hadlar disliked interrupting proper fights, but did so out of the need to cull threats. She was also more than willing to kill the disciples of Avan in whatever way was needed, believing such an offering would please Vearn to the point of saving Hadlar from his impending death.
Abilities[]
As an entity made of Orichalcum, Albinass is nigh immune to most forms of damage, leaving very few methods available to hurt her. Being the Queen, she's the most powerful out of all the pieces. Typically concealing her limbs, Albinass is a swift and an adept spellcaster who like Hadlar is capable of using Kasizz although she wields it differently, as her signature move Needle Thousand in which she distributes the spell in an array of small needles catapulted from her body in a flash of light, using it as a wide-range attack with little in the way of hiding.
On her true form, she discards her "robe" revealing a more normal humanoid form which allows her to move much faster and engage in physical combat, showing great prowess as a martial artist. It also allows her to cast Kasizz as Thousand Ball in which she concentrates the spell in a sphere of great explosive power. As such her style is very much akin to that of the infamous Chess Queen, all powerful and flexible.
