The archfiend's acolyte is a boss in the 3DS and Definitive Edition versions of Dragon Quest XI within the Echo Chamber.

Biography[]
Disguising himself as a human soldier, the Acolyte used his magic on the citizens of Aliahan to prevent Ortega from marrying Erdrick's future mother. She asks the Luminary and his friends to retrieve some Defuddle drops from the Observatory, to which they oblige. When they return with the drops, the Acolyte stops them since he wanted the Aliahan citizens to throw Ortega out of town so the marriage wouldn't happen, and challenges them to a battle. Despite his impressive array of magic, he is defeated and curses his loss since if Erdrick was born, his Master and his Higher Up along with all of monster kind will suffer for all entirety, disappearing afterwards, allowing the Luminary and the party to use the drops, thus letting the wedding go as planned.
