Arus is the young protagonist from Emblem of Roto. He is a descendant of Roto.

Background[]

Arus was trained to become a hero at a young age, even facing death, to become a hero like his ancestor Roto. He uses a sword technique taught to him by his long-time companion, Lunafrea, called "Carmen sword style". Under the guidance of his best friend and future Master Swordsman, Killa, Arus eventually attained power equal to that of Roto's.

He received his first unique sword from Quadal, a sword made of light, which eventually broke in a battle against Jagan. It was replaced by his own sword that he inherited, the Ortega sword, that he retrieved from Arihan. The sword is now known as the Sword of Arus and is made of orichalcum.

Along with his sword, he also had unique armour, the Armour of Light, and a shield, the Shield of the Hero, to complete his heroic apparel.

Arus was also trained in magic by the great sage, Quadal, where he learned his main magical attack "Rydein". Throughout his battles, he learned several more magic abilities: Snub, Mina Dain and Giga Dain. With assistance from Poron, Arus was able to improve his magic to exponential levels.

Appearance[]

At the beginning of the story, Arus looks young and wore clothes that matched his youth. He wears a light-blue tunic covered by a dark-blue cape that reaches down to his yellow-ish trousers and muddy-brown boots. Despite of his former royal heritage, he did not display it one bit with his appearance.

Later in the story he wears the Armour of Light, comparable to Erdrick's armour, showing his development into a true hero. He wields a sword, the Sword of Arus and shield, the Shield of the Hero.

Emblem of Roto[]

Arus was one of the survivors after Ryūō took over the King of Carmen's kingdom and annihilated everyone. Old Teacher Tarkin rescued both him and Lunafrea, taking the pair to a hideout in Isis away from the wrath of Imajin and Ryūō. Arus spent his time growing up by learning spells with Quadal, the great sage & companion of Roto.

Around the time his spell training sessions began, Arus met his best friend Killa who had already started training to become a hero. During this time, Arus was only 10 years of age however he quickly became aware of his destiny to fill the shoes of his ancestor, Roto, leading him to push himself to train as a hero. This sometimes led to him suffering or exerting himself too much due to his competitive nature.

Arus had a one-on-one fight with Jagan, the Demon King, who harnessed a demonic power at the same level of Roto's heroic power. Overwhelmed by Jagan's power and swordsmanship, Arus was slain by Jagan. Eventually, Arus was revived by Killa, who used the Yggdrasil Leaf to restore him. While Arus was in the spirit world, he realised the importance of his loved ones and received encouragement to get back up and defeat Jagan.

Upon returning to the world, Arus retrained and eventually became strong enough to defeat Jagan in a rematch. Alan is released from Jagan's cursed body, becoming a hero and companion of Arus. Due to the imminent threat of Imajin, however, Arus was forced to dissolve his party with Alan in order to save him. Along with the rest of his companions, Arus went on to defeat Imajin and fullfil his destiny. As a result of this battle, the Sword of Arus, Armour of Light and Shield of the Hero were all broken, although they are restored during the epilogue.
