This chapter was released in the monthly V Jump magazine during the serialisation of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai in the Weekly Shonen Jump and was written and drawn by the same team. It is included as a bonus side-story at the end of a volume corresponding with the finale of the Destiny Arc in the series multiple publications.

The 2020 Avan prequel series also published in the V Jump by the same writer but a new artist readapts some of its content, down to some page panelling, in its first chapter.
