Dragon Quest VIII[]
Making its debit, it is used by Don Mole in battle, playing the stolen moonshadow harp and confusing all enemies, as well as his Soul mole lackeys. The effect can last up to 5-8 turns or until an attack snaps the victim out of their confusion. In the 3DS remake, it is also one of Guaca Mole's abilities that can also paralyze enemies in addition to confusing them, and is also used by Don Mole in Memoriam.
Dragon Quest X[]
Used by Don Mole once again, it acts mostly the same as in VIII, though its confusion affects only all enemies in range and not his allies, while it can also damage enemies in range.
