The Bandit axe is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series.

Dragon Quest VIII[]
Making its debut, it is only equipped by Yangus and is obtained by giving a Ring of immunity to Dodgy Dave in Pickham. It has an attack bonus of +55 and can be sold for 1,950 Gold Coins. It is also used alongside Heavy armour in Alchemy to create Bandit mail.

Dragon Quest X[]
Reappearing after taking a backseat from the previous game, it is made from 3 Iron ores and a Hardy hide. When equipped, it has an ATK bonus of +7, a Style bonus of +1, and increases the wielder's Weight by 12, while having a equipment level of 7 and can deal 10% more damage to Beast monsters. It can be equipped by Warriors, Rangers, Monster Masters, Death Masters, and Pirates, as well as Hussar in the game's Offline version.
