Bath is a location in Dragon Quest IV. A town famed for its hot springs, it is situated south of the great desert. It is also the resting place of Bladud, a local hero known for his legendary armour.
Synopsis[]
With its hot springs, Bath is a tourist trap, and its merchants will attempt to fleece visitors. In particular, the town features two competing inns, with the owner of the more expensive one offering guided tours that conclude at his premises.
The Zenithian armour is kept on display in the town church, although it is rumoured to be merely a replica.
Story[]
Many years ago, a local man named Bladud defended the town against a monster attack. Though he was slain in combat, he is regarded as a hero by the townspeople, and his armour is still displayed in the church.
If the party explore the town at night, they will encounter Bladud's ghost in the graveyard. He will inform them that the armour in the church is actually a forgery, swapped with the real armour when it was stolen several years earlier. He pleads with them to find the genuine article and return it to its rightful home, before fading from view.
Returning with the armour in hand will result in Bladud thanking the party, and granting them permission to keep it.
