Baumren's bell is an unique item in the Dragon Quest series; it that can call forth a Great sabrecat for the party to ride on, greatly increasing the movement speed when on the field map.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest VIII[]
Baumren's bell is a reward given by Master Felix after completing his errand. It can also be used as a battle item against Great sabrecats, making them leave the battle immediately; it however will fail if attempted to be used against Dark sabrecats.
Since the Great sabrecats belong to the World of Light, Baurem's bell, as well as the 3DS version exclusives Darksteel bell and White gold bell, they cannot be used in the World of Darkness.
Unlike the two above mentioned bells, which are brittle and break after one use, Baumren's bell can be used as many times as needed.
Dragon Quest XI[]
Introduced in the Definitive Edition, Baumren's bell is a prize in Octagonia's casino with a token exchange of 120000. it summons a Great sabrecat that can be used as an alternative mount to the horse, which is instead summoned via the bells scattered across the land or the Horse hailer, or one of the sprint-type ride-able monsters.
