The Bones of Baramos is a boss monster in Dragon Quest III, and a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. A literal shell of his former self, Baramos's rotten corpse is reanimated by Zoma's sorcery to delay the party's advance.
Characteristics[]
The design of Bones of Baramos is merely a different color scheme of Skelegon. Although their designs differ in two principal reasons: the color of the bones and the color of the eyes. The color of the bones is a deep shade of purple (since purple is the color of death in Japan) and the color of the pupils of the eye is white, instead of blue.
However, in Emblem of Roto, Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D, and in Iru and Luca’s Marvelous Mysterious Key, his design is completely different: instead of being the skeleton of Baramos, it is actually a zombie, a reflection the monster's Japanese name. This is proven by the fact that some flesh is still held into the bones and because this zombie still wears the cape that Baramos wore in life. The skin shown is pale green, really zombie-like, the bones are still purple, but the eyes are shiny and blue. The cape's colors are more darker and the cape itself has been torn in different sections.

Emblem of Roto[]
Revived by Gorgona, the monster attacks Arus and his companions with various spells, such as Kaboom, Kasizz, and Kafrizz, nearly defeating them. It was also seen leading an army of Walking corpses, Bloody hands, Cobra kaisers, and Bullmustiffs from its body, who attack Arus and his friends while they were taking a break at Baramos's Lair. Its design is different from the purple Skelegon monster, being a very gruesome decaying corpse of Baramos.

Trivia[]
- Bones of Baramos’s skull bares a partial resemblance to Cymbal’s skeleton, another character most likely designed by Akira Toriyama.
