Appearances[]

Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake[]

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is used by Silhouettes and Umbras once again, costing 9 MP to cast for the first time since III.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake[]

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is learned by Peronel at level 22, and can also be learned by Matilda after finding a scroll in Burrowell. It costs 9 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Neanderdrohls and Succubeast.

Dragon Quest III[]

Making its debut, it is learned by Erdrick at level 31 to 33 and by Mages and Sages at level 23, dealing 52~68 damage to all enemies. It costs 9 MP to cast, and is also used by Silhouettes, Umbras, Hocus-Pokers, and Garboyle in battle during the game's HD-2D Remake.

Dragon Quest IV[]

Acting the same as in III, it is learned by Maya and the Hero at level 23, as well as level 24 for the latter, and costs 8 MP to cast. It is also used by Juggulars and Gnucifers in the remakes.

Dragon Quest V[]

Acting the same as in its last 2 appearances, it is learned by Madchen at level 24, recruited Slime knights at level 23, recruited Liquid metal slimes at level 5, recruited Revaulting horses at level 15, and recruited Minidemons at level 17, costing 8 MP to cast once again. It is also leaned by recruited Conkjurers at level 30 from the PS2 remake onwards.

Dragon Quest VI[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by advancing to Rank 5 of the Mage vocation. It costs 8 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Splutterflies and Aggrosculptures in battle.

Dragon Quest VII[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by advancing to Rank 6 of the Mage vocation and by reaching Rank 1 of the Barbatos vocation. It costs 8 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Live Lavas, Demon Deacons, Juggulars, Gnucifers, The Mighty Pip, and The Time Being in battle. In the 3DS remake, it is also learned by advancing to Rank 8 of the Sailor vocation.

Dragon Quest VIII[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Jessica at level 23; however, the spell will start to grow in power once her wisdom surpasses 150 and if the stat reaches 200, the spell will deal 90~102 damage. It costs 8 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Volpones, Anchormen when they get serious, and Crayzees.

Dragon Quest IX[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Mages at level 28 and by Sages at level 27, dealing a base damage of 52~68 and once the caster's magical might surpasses 150, the spell will begin to grow in power, capping off at 152~168 when the stat reaches 999. It costs 10 MP to cast, and is also used by Sorcerers, Sick Trigertaurs, and Larstastnaras, as well as Aggrosculptures once again.

Dragon Quest X[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Mages at level 32, Sages at level 29, investing 12 skill points into a recruited Fromage Fray and a recruited monster's Bang Knowledge skill tree after their 5th reincarnation, as well as a recruited Slime Knight's Magic Rider skill tree, 7 skill points into a recruited Imp's Kokau Magic skill tree, and 3 skill points into a recruited Hat hamwitch's Hat Magic skill tree, with the maximum damage being 145~162, and calculated as Magical Might x 0.288 + 8. It costs 10 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Wrecktors, Liquid Metal Slimes, Drackymas, Jinksters, Whiskamancers, Imps, Fromage Frays, Duke Sigras, Belial, as well as Splutterfiles and Aggrosculptures once again. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned by the Hero in the Mage vocation at the same level, though the Sage vocation is instead level 25.

Dragon Quest XI[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Veronica at level 29, and by the Luminary at level 31, hitting enemies for 68~76 base damage before growing to 140~148. It costs 12 MP to cast, and is also used by Hocus-Pokers, Scourgettes, Lump mages gone Vicious, Boodiful Hocus-poker, Boodica's left-hand man, Boodica's right-hand man, Grand Master Pang, and Mordegon's staffs, as well as Wrecktors, once again.

Dragon Warrior Monsters[]

Boom is learned by monsters beginning at level 14 if the monster has at least 50 MP and 68 Intelligence. It is learned naturally by Blackmar, Archdemon, Balzack, Baramos, boneslave, coatol, goathorn, Hargon, landowl, metabble, and Mirudraas.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D & Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[]

Boom costs 12 MP and deals a minimum of 57~63 damage. Once the caster's magic rises above 100, it will grow in power until it reaches its limit of 152~168 at 699 Wisdom.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[]

Boom costs 12 MP and is learned through the Bang Afficionado, Bang Virtuoso, Bombshell, Fire Chief, Mad Scientist, and Magic Maven talents. It has a base power of 60 and will deal an average of 160 damage at 699 Wisdom.

Dragon Quest Heroes[]

Boom is the second tier spell of Nera and can be learned by investing 8 skill points. By charging her Bang spell for a short time, she can cast Boom, setting off a medium explosion in front of her for 16 MP. If used in conjunction with the magical bubbles that Nera can unleash with her wand, she will cause them to explode, as well. As her level increases, she will be able to upgrade the spell and learn Kaboom.

Dragon Quest Tact[]

Learned by Drackymas at level 16, Cosmic chimaeras and Slimecicles at level 48, Wrecktors at level 26, Silvapithecuses at level 46, Splatypunks at level 30, Moosifers at level 28, Vis Magers at level 22, Revaulting Horses at level 32, and already learned by Archdemons and Kaleidocats when they are recruited, it acts the same as in previous appearances and costs 30 MP to cast. A scroll of this spell can be obtained by clearing Stage 7 of Madusa's Battle Road.

Dragon Quest Treasures[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Drackymas, Metal king slimes, Sham hatwitches, Hat Hamwitches, Jade slimes, Pearly wights, and Yuji at level 18, costing 12 MP to cast for the first time since XI.

Dragon Quest Champions[]
