Appearances

Dragon Quest IV

Only appearing in the remakes, Chow Mein uses this ability against the Chosen.

Dragon Quest VI

Boulder Toss is learned by advancing to rank 7 of the Gladiator vocation. It is also used by Belleau in battle, and can also be learned by recruited Boss trolls at level 30, though only in the SNES version.

Dragon Quest VII

Learned by advancing to rank 4 of the Champion vocation and by mastering the Golem class, it acts the same as in VI. It is also used by the Earth Spirit in battle. In the 3DS version, Boulder Toss is learned at the first rank of the Champion vocation and is slightly nerfed, flattening foes for 80~120. It is also used by Utter nutters in said remake.

Dragon Quest VIII

Boulder Toss is a fisticuffs technique that both the Hero and Yangus can learn requiring 82 skill points for the former, and 100 skill points by the latter. The skill is weaker in this game, dealing only 72~104 damage. It is also used by Juggerwroth during his second phase of his boss fight in the 3DS remake.

Dragon Quest IX

This ability is learned with 77 skill points invested into the Fisticuffs skill. The skill has been much improved in this game, dealing damage dependent on the user's strength and deftness for a maximum range of 290~320. Magmalices and Drakulords use this ability as well, though.

Dragon Quest X

Boulder Toss is learned with 130 skill points invested into the Fisticuffs skill tree, being available to players from 2.1 onwards. It can deal massive damage depending on the user's strength. It costs 5 MP to use and has a CT of 60 seconds. (45 seconds from the latter half of Version 3 onwards) The ability is also used by Scarab kings, Scala vader, and Red horns in battle against their enemies.

Dragon Quest XI

Now a Pep Power, it could only be used when the Luminary, Rab, & Hendrik are Pepped Up. It is still a skill for the Brodysseus to use, however, and can also be used by Booga's ex-girlfriend, Boodica.
