After learning that children are going missing from the village of Strathbaile, the King of Burland sends out his finest men, including Ragnar McRyan, to investigate. After travelling to the remote village, Ragnar discovers monsters based out of a nearby tower are behind the disappearances, kidnapping children in search of the legendary Hero. Defeating the monsters and rescuing the captive kids, Ragnor returns to Burland Castle a hero. Feeling uneasy about the safety of the Hero, however, Ragnor requests permission to leave in order to find and protect the Chosen.
