CD theater Dragon Quest I (CDシアター ドラゴンクエストI), also referred as Dragon Quest I CD theater, is drama CD of Dragon Quest. Along with the drama play, the album includes arranged melodies from the game.
This was the first of the CD theater series of drama play albums that recount the basic plot of the Dragon Quest games, based on the novelizations, with voice actors and arranged music. The series consists of the CD album plus and 48-page illustrated booklet to give further ambiance to the narration.
The album and booklet were released on 19 July 1991 by Enix, catalog number ECD-001. The package was sold as a book rather than an album, with ISBN 4900527688. Apparently, Apollon Incorporated also released a single track version, sold as an album, on 31 July 1991, catalog number APCG-4017 and JAN 4988015039658.
