Acting the same as in VIII, it is learned by investing 44 skill points invested into the Wand skill tree. It costs 2 MP to use, and is also used by Jinksters in battle.

Dragon Quest X[]

Known as Staff of Salvation from this game onwards, it is learned by investing 44 skill points into the Heavy wand skill tree and acts the same as in its last two appearances. It costs 5 MP to use, and its recovery amount can be strengthened via the Master Orb system, as well as being dependent on the user's Magical Mending stat from 6.2 onwards. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned by investing 5 skill points in the Hero's Heavy Wands Character Builder and is also used by Galmy when fighting alongside the Hero and Miko Himea, though it costs 8 MP to use, unlike the Online original.

Dragon Quest XI[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by investing 13 skill points into Veronica's Heavy Wands Character Builder, and 5 skill points into Rab's Heavy Wands Character Builder, costing 4 MP to use.

Dragon Quest Heroes II[]

Learned by investing 8 skill points after Lazarel and/or Theresa after they reach level 15 or higher in the Sage vocation, it restores their HP and costs 24 MP to use.

Etymology[]

The caduceus is an ancient symbol of the Greek messenger deity Hermes, being his preferred weapon. It is made up of two snakes entwined around a staff with wings. Due to modern confusion with the Rod of Asclepius, the symbol has also been tied to medicine.
