Befitting its name, the cautery sword is a low-to-mid-ranked weapon that sometimes sends a wisp pf flame through its blade, searing opponents as it cuts through them for a moderate amount of extra damage.

The cautery sword has an attack bonus of +45. It can be purchased in Mostroferrato, Stockenbarrel, Helmunaptra, and Battenberg for 4,400 gold. The Hero and his son can equip it.
Dragon Quest VI[]
The cautery sword has an attack bonus of +42 and a style bonus of +23. When used as an item, it casts Sizz. It can be bought for 4,400 gold in Alltrades Abbey, Ghent, and Scrimsley, or sold for 3,300 gold. The Hero, Milly, Amos, Terry, Lizzie, and Goowain can equip it.

The cautery sword has an attack bonus of +42 and a style of +23. It can be purchased in various shops for 5,400 gold and can be equipped by the Hero, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe.
