Cesar is one of the main characters of Dragon Quest Heroes II. He is a mighty warrior prince of the Kingdom of Dunisia.
Appearance[]
Cesar is a well-built young man with swept-back light brown hair, a single forelock, and striking green eyes. He wears a black sleeveless shirt paired with black trousers tucked into steel-toed boots, along with a metal breastplate, faulds, and vambraces. A pair of purple fingerless gloves adorn his hands. Slung across his back is a large greatsword in a scabbard that crosses his chest, while a long purple cape bearing a royal insignia drapes from his neck.
When he enters High Tension mode, his normally slicked-back hair rises into wild spikes.
Personality[]
Cesar is shown to be an impulsive and hotheaded young man, despite parading around the fact he is as chill as any other adult around. While this impulsive and quite angry trait seems to run in his family, being shown all way up to his first ancestor king Dunis I, he is shown to be level-headed and calm at times throughout the story.
While this does not excuse his actions at the start of the story, he makes an attempt to amend his ways and atone by assisting Lazarel and Teresa on their quest (despite having a clear distaste for Lazarel general reckless behavior).
Biography[]
Dragon Quest Heroes II[]
In his youth, Cesar attended the same military academy as Lazarel and Teresa, but at some point became estranged from them. Due to his combat prowess, he is known as the Princely Powerhouse. He is also known to be the Supreme Commander of the Dunisian Army, assisted by his second in command, Donk, a troll monster.
In the early events of the story, he makes an attack on Harba, thinking they brought crime against his father, the King of Dunisia. It is revealed his father had been murdered by who looked to be the King of Harba, which is what enabled him to wage war with the neighboring kingdom. When this is disproven, Cesar forfeits his life, only to be persuaded by Lazarel and Teresa to join them and find his father's murderer together. The King of Harba agrees, and also asks of the prince's life to be spared. The High King allows him a pass, and with an apology and short-lived reunion with the cousins, Cesar joins the party in their effort to discover what was happening to the Seven realms.
After the events of the game, Cesar assumes the throne of Dunisia, taking the place of his late father. It can also be inferred that with him assuming the throne after his father, he has no motherly figure in the picture at the time of the game's events.
Skills[]
In battle, he wields enormous greatswords, taking over from Psaro from the first game. He uses a combination of both physical and magical abilities in combat, such as Solar Flair, Coral Grief and Bazoom; Cesar is able to coat his blade in either fire, ice or lightining with Magma Strike, Glacier Strike, and Thunder Strike respectively, increasing the strenght of his attacks before the energy either dissipates or he bursts it into one last, more powerful blow. His Coup de Grâce is the Blade of Ultimate Power.
