Cock-a-doodle-doo is a curative spell in the Dragon Quest series.

Description

Wakes up sleeping party members.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III

Cock-a-doodle-doo is learnt by priests and sages at level 16. It costs 3 MP and targets the entire party.

Dragon Quest IV

Cock-a-doodle-doo is learnt by the hero at level 17 and costs 2 MP to use.

Dragon Quest VII

While it doesn't reappear in this installment, a skill similar to the spell, Dawn Chorus, can be learnt by the Troubadour at Rank 6 in the original PSX version and Rank 5 in the 3DS remake.

Dragon Quest IX

Reappearing after a 5 game hiatus, Cock-a-doodle-doo is learned by priests once again at level 11 as well as rangers at level 18, once again costing 2 MP to cast.

Dragon Quest X

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is once again learned by priests and Rangers at level 7 for the former and level 10 for the latter, as well as investing 12 skill points into a recruited monster's Chiryo skill tree after their 4th reincarnation. It once again costs 2 MP to cast, and can awaken all sleeping allies from a distance. It is also used by Palin to help out Oren and Girguish during their strong boss fight.

Dragon Quest XI

Erik learns the spell at level 15, and Sylvando joins having already learned it. It once again costs 2 MP to cast, and is also cast by the Seer's Healijah form if Erik is put to sleep during a fight.
