Dragon Quest IX[]
Making its debut, it is learned when 3 skill points are invested into the Bow skill tree. It has a 50% chance to decrease the enemy's spell resistances by 1 stage (25%) when used.
Dragon Quest X[]
Learned when 7 skill points are invested into the Bow skill tree, it was not very useful in the game's early days, having a 1/2 chance of reducing an enemy's spell resistance by one level. From Version 3 onwards, however, the skill can be buffed with Magic Arrow's Secret and it can hit enemies for 1.2 times the damage of a normal attack, while decreasing an enemy's spell resistance by two levels from the first half of 3.4 onwards. The success rate is thoroughly buffed from Version 4 onwards.
