The Cross eye is a monster that first appeared in Dragon Quest V as both an enemy and recruitable monster, before later appearing in many installments of the Dragon Quest Monsters series. In Dragon Quest V, it is weaker than the Lazy eye and Luneyetic (the latter being the strongest of the three) and encountered first.

Etymology[]
A pun combining "cross", meaning easily perturbed or angry, with "cross-eyed", a condition in which the eyes turn inward toward the nose and do not align properly. The inverse of being cross-eyed is being wall-eyed.
