Dark Incense is one of Zaboera's skills in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, and a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai[]
The Incense is used by Zaboera to put Dai, Gomechan, Hyunckel, and Crocodine to sleep while they were recovering from the battle with Baran, Dai's biological father. Popp resists it due to having Dragon blood, but lets his guard down when Zaboera, disguised as Maam via Morph, seduces him and injects him with poison from his fingernails. The Incense's effectiveness is so high, not even an explosion from Hadlar and Matoriv's Kasizz spells can awaken people afflicted by it, though Dai manages to awaken just in time to absorb both Zaboera and Hadlar's Sizzle spells and save Popp from the Mystic Bishop's poison.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light[]
Appearing as a breath skill, it is learned by Zaboera at level 16 and puts all enemies AND allies to sleep, costing 32 MP for the Mystic Bishop of the Dark Army's Mystic Legion to use.
Dragon Quest of the Stars[]
Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is used by Zaboera after he is defeated, as well as his revived Superior Being monster form, the latter rarely being used as a normal action.
Dragon Quest Tact[]
Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Zaboera at level 22 and costs 42 MP for the Mystic Bishop of the Dark Army's Mystic Legion to use.
Trivia[]
- In Dragon Quest X, Demowl and his Sleepowl minions use a similar fog to this skill to put the citizens of Menet Village to sleep.
