Drackolyte is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Characteristics[]
An evolution of the staple dracky, these lepidopteran creatures in crimson have only begun to study magic. They are not much stronger than a typical dracky, but their spells can frustrate underprepared adventurers if they themselves do not run low on MP first. Depending on the title, they may rank a bit below or a bit above a drackyma.

Etymology[]
Being the vampiric students of magic that they are, the name "drackolyte" is a mashup of dracky and "acolyte", a young practitioner within a religious order often designated to assist in ceremonial duties on behalf of higher clergy.
