The Dragon Crest is a blue dragon face mark symbol that only appears on Dragon Knights. It the most important thing in the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai.

The dragon crest is a signature trait lineage of the dragon knights, created by the gods.
The dragon crest is a signature trait of the dragon knights, not only the sole symbol, but the source of the power with in them, typically activated by a strong surge of emotions, an energy crest will materialize in their foreheads increasing their power and defense, producing their Dragonic Aura, and allowing them to cast almost any spell they synergized with. While the Dragon Crest is inactivated, they are similar to humans, being possible to kill them with weapons and magic. Normally, they can't control the dragon crest until in adulthood, although presumably that some underage dragon knights can control the dragon crest.
Due to its inheriting powers in nature, the Dragon Crest was passed down through generations through the holy mother dragon, giving them battle memory of all those that precede them. They can even be passed down to their own offsprings, giving their own dragon crest and with incredibly rare impossibilities, dragon knights can possess two dragon crests in the same body which double power them than a normal Dragon Knight.
The Crest Beam is Coup de Grâce that can be shot from the mark and leaving the same shape on its target, it has the power to destroy a mountain at full power.
A human-hybrid managed to move his own on the back of their hand and if two crests fuse together, then they will become a Dragonoid.
Two dragon knights are able to communicate telepathically and track down each other through their crest, they can even erase their memories and possible to brainwash one another.
