Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai - The Hero Avan and The Hellfire Dark Lord (ドラゴンクエスト ダイの大冒険 勇者アバンと獄炎の魔王, Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken Yuusha Avan to Gokuen no Maou) is a Japanese comic series written by Riku Sanjo, illustrated by Zipman!!'s author Shibata Yuusaku.
The plot centres around the events that happened 15 years before the original series, readapting and then expending upon the Avan backstory that was present in volume 13.
