Dragon Quest: Monster Parade (ドラゴンクエスト モンスターパレード), abbreviated in Japan as Monpare (モンパレ), is a free-to-play browser game. This Dragon Quest game was developed by Zener Works and it takes inspiration from Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart while taking music from the Slime Morimori series.

The concept of the game is referenced in monster parade, a unit formed of monsters in Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key.

Description[]

The beta phase started on 22 August 2013 and the service officially initiated on 2 September 2013.

The plot of the first scenario version of the game involves the King organizing an expedition to find the avatar of the legendary priestess. A young boy, an adventurer and the player's character, is given the mission that accomplish this objective, so he organizes a caravan to do so. In the second scenario version, the protagonist has to unravel the mystery behind some mysterious orbs.

The main gameplay is similar to that of Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart. It consists of a caravan of monsters travelling from destination to destination, fighting and recruiting fellow monsters along the way. The caravan has a weight limit, so the player has to choose wisely which monsters to take. Monster Parade included collaborations with other games from the Dragon Quest series, which allowed players to fight and recruit monsters from those games, including one with Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. It also had a collaboration event with Sengoku ixa, another browser game.

While the basic play is free, additional items and extras need to be purchased with real money, like in most free-to-play games.

The game required Adobe Flash Player 11 and a Yahoo! Japan or Hangame account to be played.

With the end of support for Adobe Flash announced for 2020, the service to play Dragon Quest: Monster Parade was closed on 24 June 2019.

Dragon Quest: Monster Parade Anywhere[]

Dragon Quest: Doko demo Monster Parade (ドラゴンクエスト どこでもモンスターパレード), translated as Dragon Quest: Monster Parade Anywhere and also abbreviated in Japan as DokoPare (どこパレ), is the mobile version of Dragon Quest: Monster Parade. This version was released on iOS and Android on 25 June 2015.

Besides using touch controls instead of a mouse, the only major difference with the browser version is that this version doesn't have scheduled maintenance to add content. Instead, new content is added through regular updates.

All other elements from the browser version, are present in this version.
