Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden (ドラゴンクエストVII: エデンの戦士たち Doragon Kuesuto Sebun: Eden no Senshi-tachi) is an unfinished manga series adaptation of the PSX version of VII. As the manga is incomplete, the story concluded around the Alltrades Abbey/Dharma arc.
Plot[]
The story begins with two young men, Arus and Kiefer, who discover a historic ruin while exploring. The ruin houses a collection of peculiar tablets, which intrigues both Arus and Kiefer. Kiefer reminds Arus to keep the discovery a secret, and Arus agrees. However, their friend Maribel observes them and becomes upset at being left out of their secret. Upon their return to Pilchard Bay, Maribel confronts Arus and expresses her frustration at being disregarded. She reminds Arus of "favors" he owes her and asks to be included in their next visit to the site. Arus agrees to bring her along as compensation. Kiefer is not pleased with the idea and cringes at the thought of having Maribel with them.
The next day, the group sets out to visit the site, and Maribel questions Arus about the safety of the shrine. As they enter the shrine, Maribel notices a tablet fragment that Arus is holding and suggests fitting it into a pedestal. Arus admits that he knows nothing of its purpose but believes that one must exist given the difficulty of finding the fragment. Kiefer remarks that they are the "Chosen Ones," and both he and Arus are overjoyed at the possible adventures that await them. The group leaves the site feeling exhilarated and excited about the possibilities ahead. Kiefer proudly exclaims their progress as Arus begins to recall the occasion on which he found the first tablet fragment, having been drawn to it by an unknown means.
