Dragon Soul is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series, originally exclusive to the Western release, but was later reimported to Japan from the Battle Road series onwards.

Dragon Quest VIII[]
Making its debut, it is learned by the Hero when he reaches level 65 (Level 70 in the 3DS remake) and costs 64 MP to use, dealing 420~520 non-elemental damage to one enemy. (375~450 non-elemental damage in the 3DS remake)
Dragon Quest X[]
Reappearing from the latter half of 3.1 onwards, it is learned from the Chance to Nail by the Warrior, Martial Artist, Gladiator, Armamentalist, and the Monster Master vocations, while costing 3 MP to use. It has a CT of 60 seconds and inflicts 4 times the lightning damage on one enemy while potentially reducing their wind resistance.
Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series[]
Appearing as Eight's Coup de Grâce, he turns into a dragon once again, damaging all enemies when one scans his SP card.
Dragon Quest of the Stars[]
Dragon Quest Tact[]
Reappearing as Eight's Coup de Grace once again, it is learned by him at level 82, and deals 450% physical non-reflectable Zap damage to all enemies in range while moving him up 4 spaces and putting him in a Frizzforce, Sizzforce, Crackforce, Wooshforce, Bangforce, and/or Zamforce state for 3 turns. It costs 130 MP to use, while upgrading the skill increases damage dealt and reduces MP cost, though it takes turns to be activated and can only be used.
