Evac is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.

Description[]

Warps the user and their party outside the dungeon they are inside, though if there are multiple entrances to a dungeon, Evac will warp you to the entrance you came in from. The Evac-u-bell item, introduced in Dragon Quest IX, gives a similar effect.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest[]

Making its debut alongside the series, it is learned by the Hero at level 12 (Level 15 in the Mobile remakes) and costs 6 MP to cast.

Dragon Quest II[]

Acting the same as in its debut, it is learned by the Prince of Cannock at level 12 (16, then 14 in the Mobile remakes) and the Princess of Moonbrooke at level 17, costing 6 MP to cast once again.

Dragon Quest III[]

Acting the mostly same as in its last two appearances, it is learned by Erdrick at levels 14 to 15, and by Priests and Sages at levels 9 to 10. Starting from this game onwards, players can now escape from dungeons that have 2 or more entrances and exits using the same doorway they entered. It costs 8 MP to cast, while in the PS4, 3DS, and Switch remakes, it costs only 1 MP to cast. In the 2D-HD Remake, it acts the same as in XI onwards and costs 0 MP to cast once again.

Dragon Quest IV[]

Acting the same as in III, it is learned by the Hero at levels 13 to 14, Borya at levels 7 to 8, and Maya at levels 9 to 10, costing 8 MP to cast once again. In the remakes, it is already known by Psaro upon joining the Chosen, while the MP required to cast the spell has been reduced to 4, then 1 in the Mobile remakes once again.

Dragon Quest V[]

Acting the same as in its last 2 appearances, it is learned by the Hero at level 14, the Hero's Daughter at level 9, Beastmasters at level 18, Chimaeras at level 12, Slimes at level 18, and Rebjørn at level 45. It costs 8 MP to cast once again, as well as 1 MP to cast in the Mobile remakes once again.

Dragon Quest VI[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by Milly at level 7 and Ashlynn at level 10, while other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 5 of the Mage vocation. It costs 8 MP to cast once again.

Dragon Quest VII[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by the Hero at level 28, Maribel at level 9 (Level 5 in the 3DS remake), already learned by Sir Mervyn when he joins the party, and by advancing to Rank 4 of the Mage vocation, costing 8 MP to cast once again.

Dragon Quest VIII[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by the Hero at level 6 and by Jessica at level 11, though when used from this game onwards, the characters are enveloped in a light and disappear from the dungeon. It costs 2 MP to use.

Dragon Quest IX[]

Acting the same as in VIII, it is learned by Mages at level 8, Thieves at level 12, Minstrels at level 10, Rangers at level 7, and Sages at level 5, costing 3 MP to cast. When a Grotto boss is defeated, the player is given the option to evacuate immediately.

Dragon Quest X[]

Acting mostly the same as in its last 2 modern appearances, it is learned by Thieves at level 2, Rangers at level 3, Mages at level 4, Sages at level 5 once again, Minstrels and Item Masters at level 7, Dancers at level 8, Druids and Demon Swordsmen at level 52, Pirates at level 54, Death Masters at level 58, and already learned by Dragon Magicians, though due to the MMO nature of the game, it instead creates a gate that allows only the user and their party members to leave a dungeon, costing 3 MP to cast once again. From the 6.2 update onwards, however, its chant time has been shortened, allowing for quicker escapes from tough monsters. In the Offline version of the game, it acts the way it later would in the next game and is learned once again by the Hero in the aforementioned vocations and their levels, as well as Fura and Distan when they join the party.

Dragon Quest XI[]

Acting the same as in X, it is learned by the Hero at level 9 and Erik at level 12, costing 0 MP to cast.
