Executioner (Hatchet Hitman in Super Light) is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest VIII[]
Making its debut, it is a stronger version of Hatchet Man that Yangus can learn by investing 66 skills points in the Axe skill tree, and is useful for hunting Metal slime monsters. It ditches the chance for a normal attack for a 50% probability to land a critical hit, and costs 3 MP to use.
Dragon Quest XI[]
Now a Pep Power, it is used when Hendrik is Pepped Up with Sylvando in the active party. Hendrik must have learnt Hatchet Man and Sylvando Metal Slash as abilities. When used, it always lands a critical hit, which is great for metal slime hunting, as well as strong opponents. This Pep Power is required to officially defeat Tweedledoom and Tweedledeath in the Kingsbarrow.
Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series[]
Reappearing from Battle Road II onwards, it is a special move that is activated when used alongside the Headsman's axe's Hatchet Man, and 2 monsters with critical hit or miss skills, such as Hammerhood's Ultra Stomp and Boss troll's Desperate Attack to damage all enemies, though the user may be immobilized by a curse.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light[]
Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by Giganteses at level 20, Rockbombs at level 33, Balhibs at level 16, Overkilling machines at level 21, Raving reapers at level 14, Goresby-Purrvis at level 25, Metal scrappers at level 19, and already learned by newly reincarnated Lethal armours and Lizzie when they are recruited, costing 24 MP to use.
