Exsanguination is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest IX[]
Making its debut, it is used by Pink sanguinis and their evolved forms in battle, damaging an enemy and restoring 1/4th of their health, while potentially killing said enemy instantly.
Dragon Quest X[]
Acting mostly the same as in IX, it is used by Genie sanguinis, Snowy sanguinis, Armoured ants, Scarab kings, Scarabelinas, Queenie sanguinis, Scarabvaders, Big sanguini, and Little elf sanguini, as well as Pink Sanguinis once again, but cannot instantly kill enemies. Players can also use this skill by recruiting a Teeny sanguini to their side after investing 12 skill points into their Yami Mormon skill tree and costs 1 MP for the lovable lumps to use, while dealing 1.2 times more damage than their relatives.

Etymology[]
Exsanguination is a professional term for bleeding, and usually refers to a significant or voluminous loss of blood that can result in death. The word comes from compounding Latin ex ("out") + sanguis ("blood").
