The falcon knife earrings (or simply falcon knife, Falcon Knife Earring in DQXI) is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series.
Characteristics[]
Like its larger variant, the falcon knife earrings attack twice per turn. However, they can only be wielded by female characters in most installments, and possess a lower attack bonus. To compensate for this, both strikes can inflict critical hits, be amplified by Oomph and Focus Strength, and do not suffer the percentage reduction of the sword.

Dragon Quest IV[]
The falcon knife earrings has an attack bonus of +5. It can only be wielded by female characters. When equipped by Alena, both strikes have an equal chance of being critical hits. They can be bought in Rosehill for 7500G.
Dragon Quest V[]
The falcon knife earrings have an attack bonus of +35. It can be purchased as a casino prize for 10,000 tokens. It can only be wielded by female human characters and slime companions except the Slime knight.
Dragon Quest VI[]
The falcon knife earrings have an attack bonus of +35. It may be equipped by Milly, Ashlynn, and all slime buddies except Goowain. The weapon is the prize for reaching rank C in the Slimopolis tournament, and is dropped by Jugular jokers and Sail serpents at a rate of 1/128.
Each blow with the earrings can trigger the paladin's instant death trait, doubling the max rate from 1/8 to 1/4.
Dragon Quest VII[]
The needle earrings have an attack bonus of +45 and may be equipped by Maribel and Aishe. They possess the same traits as in the previous game, and can be purchased at the Sea Dragon for 11,000 gold.
Dragon Quest VIII[]
The falcon knife has an attack bonus of +34 and may be equipped by Jessica, as well as Red in the 3DS version.

Dragon Quest XI[]
The falcon knife earring can be found in Puerto Valor inside a chest that is locked behind a magic key door. Like in prior appearances, the falcon knife earrings retain their ability to attack twice in succession.
The falcon knife earring has an attack power of +45 that can be upgraded up to +3 (+48, +51, +54). It also has a charm bonus of +13 that can be upgraded up to +13 (+13, +14, +15).
