The false idol (formerly Evil Statue or Eye of Malroth) is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series, mostly remembered for its inception as an important item in Dragon Quest II.

Acquiring[]
The False idol is located at the Shrine of the Great Conflagration of the Sea Cave. It is guarded by two Whackolytes who must be defeated prior to receiving the item.
Usage[]
The False idol is used to open the Cave to Rendarak. It should be used while standing in front of where the entrance is hidden to reveal the cave.
The statue is also used to reveal the 1B staircase within the Hall of Hargon. It should be used while standing near the tile where the staircase is hidden.
Dragon Quest Builders 2[]
It is first seen in the ruined church as a part of the Children of Hargon's altar. It is seen again in the sinister shrine in Khrumbul-Dun.
