Feel the Burn is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.

Description[]

Increases the tension of the user each time they are hit until the effect wears off or is dispelled.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest IX[]

Making its debut, it is learned by investing 100 skill points invested into the Guts skill tree of the Gladiator vocation. It costs 0 MP to use, and is also used by Bewarewolves, Scarewolves, Tearwolves, Alphyns, Vermil lions, and Excalipurr in battle.

Dragon Quest X[]

Acting the same as in IX, it is learned by investing 130 skill points in the Guts skill tree of the Gladiator vocation, investing 25 skill points into a recruited Brownie's Tension King skill tree, as well as a 30 second increase for the skill after 43 skill points from the 10th reincarnation onwards, investing 9 skill points into Hussar's Cool skill tree, and investing 100 skill points into Lada Ghat's War Demon skill tree, but has a CT of 25 seconds for the first round, and 75 seconds for subsequent uses. It costs 8 MP to use, and is also used by Orc chieftains, Hippo soldiers, Hippo kings, Hippo guards, Knights of the white rose, Coral dimoses, Magic Solider Tanato, Nemean, Hippo Sardon, Brandon beast Ark chimaera, Gullray Beast, Gosnell, Evil Alvin, Genuine Nemean, and Evil God Ashlay, as well as Alphyns, Vermil Lions, and Excalipurr once again. In the Offline version of the game, it is instead learned by the Hero at level 65 in the Gladiator vocation.

Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Victory[]

A type of SP card, it raises tension for the player's team every time an enemy attacks said team.

Dragon Quest Heroes and Dragon Quest Heroes II[]

Appearing as a trait in these spinoff games, it is learned by investing 6 skill points into Alena, Terry, Yangus, and Doric after reaching level 22 or higher, while in the sequel, it can be learned by investing 5 skill points into Lazarel and Teresa in the Gladiator vocation, Desdemona, Carver, and Ruff after they reached level 24 or higher. It acts the same as in previous appearances.

Dragon Quest Tact[]

Appearing as a trait once again, it is already known by Yangus, Jessica, and Angelo when they are recruited, acting the same as in previous appearances once again, though Tension will increase if they are hit by spells.
