Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, shortened to FFBE, was a free-to-play mobile game in the Final Fantasy series and the first in its own continuity, developed by publisher A-lim and co-managed by A-lim subsidiary gumi and Square Enix. With an original story set in the fantasy world of Lapis, the game followed its three protagonists on a globetrotting journey to unearth Lapis' myriad mysteries and restore peace to its lands with their ability to command "visions": crystalline memories of warriors scattered throughout numerous worlds and universes. Brave Exvius enjoyed a combined worldwide run of nine years from its Japanese debut in 2015, before succumbing to general fatigue in Global as of late 2024, and finally in Japan one year later. It is scheduled for retirement as of 31 October 2025, after a full ten years of service.

Connections to Dragon Quest

Brave Exvius had hosted multiple crossovers, the lion's share of which were in the Japanese version of the game. From these events came a number of collectible units from Dragon Quest, including the slime, Zoma, the Dragonlord, and several Heroes.
