Fissure is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest VI[]

Making its debut, it is learned by advancing to Rank 5 of the Sage vocation and learned by recruited Boss trolls at level 15, though only in the SNES version. It costs 0 MP to use, and opens a chasm to suck enemies into, making it a skill version of Kathwack. However, it has a 33% chance of failure and cannot be used at sea.

Dragon Quest VII[]

Acting the same as in VI, it can only be learned by advancing to Rank 4 of the Golem vocation and costs 0 MP to use once again. It is also used by the Earth Spirit in battle.

Dragon Quest X[]

Learned by investing 56 skill points into the Druid's Summon skill tree, it damages enemies for 500 to 700 damage depending on the user's Magical Might, while lowering lightning resistance and costs 16 MP to use.

Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series[]

Appearing as the blue button technique of the Vis mager from Battle Road II onwards, it pierces its cane into the ground and protrudes a rock that damages one enemy, but cannot instantly kill said enemy unlike VI and VII.
