The Five Sigils (formerly the 5 Seals or 5 Crests) are a set of symbols/markings that must be acquired in Dragon Quest II. By collecting all 5, the heroes are able to summon Rubiss at the Rubiss Shrine and receive the Eye of Rubiss.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake[]
Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, they are crafted by the Faeries at the Faerie Village for the Hero to use in his adventure to slay the Dragonlord.
Sigils[]
Soul[]
The Soul Sigil is the first Sigil obtained in the game, and is crafted with the Glowing seeds found in the Field of Flowers.
Water[]
The Water Sigil is obtained after crafting the Wellspring crystal found in the Cave of the Dwarves.
Moon[]
The Moon Sigil is obtained after crafting the Moonbeam dew found in Quagmire Cave.
Star[]
The Star Sigil is obtained after crafting the Stardust found in Weeping Isle.
Sun[]
The Sun Sigil is obtained after crafting the Undying flame found in Weirdwood.
Dragon Quest II[]
Sigil locations[]
Star[]
The Star Sigil is located in the Lighthouse. It is guarded by 4 Gremlins, as well as Nekomancer in the HD-2D Remake of Dragon Quest II.
Moon[]
The Moon Sigil is kept by the King of Dirkandor. It can be won by fighting for the King in the arena against a fierce Striking sabrecat.
Sun[]
The Sun Sigil can be found by searching a specific tile on the outskirts of the Fire Shrine. In the HD-2D Remake of Dragon Quest II, it is instead found on a pedestal near the outskirts of the Fire Shrine.
Water[]
The Water Sigil is located in a prison cell in Moonahan. It can be found by searching the cell after defeating 2 Grimlins. To get to the crest, the heroes must have the Golden Key and the Jailor's Key. In the HD-2D Remake, it is instead given to them by the Young Thief after defeating Sinister Minister and the 2 Grimlins.
Soul[]
The Soul Sigil is located in a treasure chest on floor B1 inside the Cave to Rendarak. In the iOS and Switch remake, the King of Tantegel castle has the sigil and can be claimed after the party gets the Golden Key to unlock the room he is secluded in. The change was made because, in the later versions, a spirit blocks the heroes from entering the Cave to Rendarak unless they already possess the Eye of Rubiss. In the HD-2D Remake, it is instead obtained after defeating Mariella at the Den of Iniquity.
