Takes a deep breath to build power for the next attack, which deals 200%~250% damage on the next attack.

Dragon Quest IV[]

Making its debut, it is an enemy only skill used by Wild beasts.

Dragon Quest V[]

Now usable by allies, Focus Strength is learned and used by the following monster companions:

It costs 0 MP to use, and is also used by Spiked hares, Rockbombs, Warhogs, and the Winter Queen in battle. Pankraz also uses this ability while fighting Slon the Rook and Kon the Knight.

Dragon Quest VI[]

Acting the same as in its last 2 appearances, it is learned by Goowain at level 13, while other characters can obtain it by advancing to rank 2 of the Warrior vocation. It once again costs 0 MP, and is also used by Well wishers, as well as Rockbombs once again.

Dragon Quest VII[]

Kiefer learns this ability naturally at level 12, whereas his descendant starts with this ability already learned when she joins the party. Other characters can obtain it by reaching rank 2 of the Warrior vocation, and costs 0 MP once again. It is also used by Harmours, Gold golems, Damned wells, Bomboulders, and Fright knights, as well as Spiked Hares once again in the 3DS remake.

Dragon Quest of the Stars[]

Named Pepper-Upper, it appears as a skill for the Martial Artist vocation.

Dragon Quest Heroes II[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is used by Hell gladiators in battle, replacing their Oomph from the previous game.

Dragon Quest Rivals[]

Dragon Quest Walk[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by Warriors at level 5, players wielding the Miracle sword at level 11, and already learned by players who wield the Sword of Kings. It costs 5 MP to use.
