Gannon the Elder is a minor monster character in Dragon Quest X.

Biography[]
A ruffian who was driven away from the fortress kingdom of Valdista alongside his brother by Valeria, the two return after citizens and monsters fight each other after her supposed death. Later, he is seen attacking Topal alongside an Archdemon, a Ursa minor, a Demon Ogre, and a Red fang. While gloating how the citizens and monsters in the village were weak, the Red fang questioned him about why his brother hasn't returned after he found a child that looked like Valeria, causing Gannon the Elder to kill the monster, which he loudly regrets. When the elder of Topal tries to flee for her life, the elder brother corners and mocks her saying she would be more easier to kill and would love to her scream. When he is about to land the killing blow however, Tila intervenes by blocking it with a frying pan causing the beast to wonder why a child would stand up against him to which she replies that she remembers driving monsters like him out of Valdista and she will stop monsters like him from harming those she cares about. Illusia and the Hero show up, with Tila demanding the fruit to reverse her curse with, which Illusia promptly throws towards her. After eating the fruit and remembering the grave of orphans who died at the hands of one who betrayed her, Valeria regains her usual appearance, drops the frying pan, summons her weapon and begins charing her ice attack. Gannon the Elder curses how that same child was actually the one who drove him and his brother out of Valdista, before being killed by Valeria's ice attack. She later defeats the Demon Ogre, Ursa minor, and Archdemon in quick fashion, ending the ruffians' short lived bullying over Topal.

- Despite sharing the same appearance as his brother and the monsters related to him, he is not fought at all in the main story.
