The Garboyle is a boss monster in Dragon Quest III.

Dragon Quest III[]

Making its debut from the Super Famicom version of the game onwards, it is the monster fought by Ortega in the volcano east of Ibis and near Necrogond during the game's intro, replacing the dragon from the NES original. It is set to be a boss monster fought by the future Erdrick and his party in the game's HD-2D remake, though how it will fight and what further role it will play is unknown since it took Ortega down with it.
