Gold Rush is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest IX[]

Making its debut, it is learned when one has the Luminary's Lore book in their inventory and rains a lot of gold coins upon all enemies for 530~580 soil-type damage for 1000G apiece, and costs no MP to use.

Dragon Quest X[]

Learned by investing 100 skill points into the Luminary's Je Ne Sais Quoi skill tree in this installment, it deals 270 to 330 non-elemental damage to all enemies in a circular area centered on the user, and is now affected by tension and Fource skills. If one equips the Noscar accessory, it costs 2000G apiece to use, but damage is doubled. It is also used by Bourgeois hands, Dark Hare, Hatshepsut, Golden Badind, Golden Zeplings, and Povadius in battle, the last of whom can curse enemies during his boss fight. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned by the Hero in the Luminary vocation at level 50, though unlike the original Online version, it cannot be strengthened with the Noscar accessory.

Dragon Quest XI[]

Learned by investing 20 skill points into Sylvando's Showmanship Character Builder, it acts the same as in IX.

Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Victory[]

Reappearing as the Gem jamboree's blue button skill, it rains lots of Gold slimes on all enemies and if paired up with the player in the Sage vocation, it becomes the Gold Rush skill from VIII.

Dragon Quest Heroes[]

Acting differently from its past appearances, Gold golems can use it to steal gold from surrounding enemies when they are summoned with a Monster Medal.
