Dragon Quest IX[]
It was the pet lizard of Queen Voluptua. He ate a fygg and wish to become mortal so that he can accompany his mistress as a human, but instead become a giant lizard. He doesn't actually realise he isn't human untill you defeat him. He is also known by the servants as His Dryness and by Voluptua Drakky-Woo.

You should be around level 25 for this fight. The Grand Lizzier is the easiest of the next few bosses. It has a powerful normal attack and a fire breath that hits the whole party, so you will need a Priest to keep the party healed.
As the Grand Lizzier is a Dragon-type, any sword-wielders can use Dragon Slash to deal a lot of damage to it. It is also weak to Ice, so a Mage with Crackle can deal a decent amount of damage as well.
