The great sabrecat is a monster who appears in the Dragon Quest series. Since its introduction it's become very popular, completely supplanting its less fortunate cousin, the sabrecat. Juvenile forms of the feline, great sabrecubs, can sometimes be found.
Characteristics[]
The great sabrecat is a cross between a cheetah and a sabre-tooth tiger with a shock of red hair along its back. This mane sometimes does not extend beyond the nape of the neck. It even sports a thick leonine tuft at the tip of its long tail. Still, it is a beast to be feared, with its long, ferocious fangs and sharp claws providing for the bulk of its attacks via bites and scratches. Given proper care and training, however, the great sabrecat can be domesticated as a fierce companion or as rapid transport.
