Hacksaurus (formerly Battle Rex and BattleRex) is a monster who appears in the Dragon Quest game series.
Characteristics
Hacksaurus are dragons with a build similar to that of a predatory dinosaur. They are green in color with a yellow underbelly and carry large axes in their small arms.

Near Farebury, there is a recruitable Hacksaurus for the Monster Arena. After being defeated for the first time, it drops a Silver Medal. It is a pretty strong unit, with good stats overall, very strong early game and still usable late game. His attacks include: basic attack, Falcon Slash and a weak fire breath attack. It's one of the monsters whose stats scale with Hero's level.
The Hacksaurus also appears in the Dragon's Graveyard as a regular monster. It has the same attacks as the recruitable version.

It's name is a pun on hacksaw (a saw used for chopping metal) with dinosaurus (it's a dinosaur)
