Have a Ball is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest VIII Remake[]
Only appearing in the 3DS remake, it is known as Blade Cascade and is learned by mastering Red's Knife skill tree. It costs 6 MP to use, and consists of 6~8 strikes that hit random targets, each dealing 40% damage. Unlike its Have a Ball incarnation, Blade Cascade takes on the inherith proprieties of the knife or sword it is executed with; this makes the skill particularly useful against the Metal slime-type of enemies, as, if executed with the Liquid metal sword equipped, each strike is guaranteed to deal 2 points of damage, and thanks to its numerous hits, it can easily tear apart multiple metal monsters, including the otherwise bulky Metal king slimes.
Dragon Quest IX[]
Making its debut, it is learned by investing 82 skill points into the Minstrel's Litheness skill tree and costs 8 MP to use. The attack barrages enemies with 6 to 8 juggling balls at 30% damage per hit, and is also useful against metal slimes.
Dragon Quest X[]
Learned by investing 68 skill points into the Minstrel's Litheness skill tree, it acts mostly the same as in IX, but can now potentially confuse enemies. It once again costs 8 MP to use, however, it only hits 6 times, and the ball drop interval tends to take longer in this game, prior to 4.1.
Dragon Quest XI[]
Acting mostly the same as in X, it is learned by investing 20 skill points into Sylvando's Litheness Character Builder, and costs 12 MP to use. It is also used alongside the Luminary's Zap spell for the Joltin' Juggler Pep Power.
