The headless honcho is a boss monster in Dragon Quest XI and a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Biography[]
While the Luminary and Hendrik are fighting in defence of the Last Bastion, the Headless Honcho makes his appearance, his horse stamping away two Slimes gone vicious. He tells Hendrik that he was sent by the monsters' Commander to kill him, with the reward being a very great one indeed. The monsters cheer and wave their arms around, with the Honcho reminding them to actually attack Hendrik, which they do. He fights Hendrik and the Luminary alongside a skelegon, skeleton swordsman, a chasmonaut, and a grim gryphon gone vicious. (four chasmonauts in the 3DS version and 2D mode of the Definitive Edition.) After a grueling fight to the death, he is defeated and disappears with a chasmonaut ordering a retreat.
