Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai[]
The Hell's Claws are bone protrusions manifested in his knuckles and hardened with magic, making them so tough they can cut through nearly anything, even the Dark Armour Blade made from the second hardest material in the world. It is not as effective against Orichalcum as the Sword of Dai could easily cut through them.
After mastering Dark Fire Energy, Hadlar is able to channel it into his Hell's Claw.[1]
Dragon Quest Tact[]
Appearing as both a skill and weapon in this spinoff entry, the former is already learned by Hadlar when he is recruited, dealing 200% physical damage to 1 enemy while lowering their Spell RES for 3 turns, costing 30 for the Dark Commander to use. The latter is a weapon obtained from the Dark Commander Hadlar stage on Showdown on Valge Island! or purchased from the Swap Shop for 200/500 The Adventure of Dai Medals apiece, the weapon itself having an AGL bonus of +20, a WIS bonus of +11, and 3 slots for Alchemy Effects.
Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai - A Hero's Bonds[]
Hell's Claw appears as skill for Hadlar in his Velge Clothing outfit and the Luminary Leader as a Mage. It is a long-range attack that inflicts piercing magical Shadow damage over a small area. The main way to unlock the skill is by exchanging Hell's Claw scrolls in the Shop Exchange, which can be received by playing during Hadlar's recruitment event or from Chapter 3, Episode 15 of Bonding Journey at Intermediate and Advanced difficulties.
