Iron helmet

The iron helmet is a recurring piece of headgear in the Dragon Quest series. It is mid-level headgear often seen during the middle stages of games in the main series.

Dragon Quest II[]

The iron helmet has a defence bonus of +6. It can only be worn by the Hero and can be purchased at Tantegel, Slewse, Beran, Osterfair, and Wellgarth for 3,150 gold.

Dragon Quest III[]

The iron helmet has a defence bonus of +16. It can be equipped by the Hero, Warriors, Priests, and Sages. They can be bought for 2,000 gold in Assaram and sold for 750 gold.

The iron helmet has a defence bonus of +16. They can be bought for 1,100 gold in Mintos, Stancia, Rosehill, and Riverton. They can also be sold for 825 gold. The Hero, Kiryl, Torneko, Ragnar, and Psaro can equip them.

Dragon Quest V[]

The iron helmet has a defence bonus of +16. They can be bought for 1,100 gold and sold for 825 gold. All male human allies can equip them, along with many monster allies.

Dragon Quest VI[]

Iron helmets have defense bonuses of +16 and a style bonus of +15, though it can be upgraded to have a style bonus of +26 if you pay 400 gold. They can be bought for 1,100 gold in Amor, Clearvale, Wellshire, Ghent, and Scrimsley. They can be sold for 825 gold, but if they are upgraded, they will sell for 900 gold. Cauldrones and Pot Shots will drop them. The Hero, Carver, Amos, Terry, Lizzie, and Goowain can equip them.

Dragon Quest VII[]

The iron helmet has a defence bonus of +16 and an appearance bonus of +15. It can be equipped by the Hero, Kiefer, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It can be bought for 1,100 gold and sold for 550 gold.

Dragon Quest VIII[]

The iron helmet has a defence bonus of +16. It can be worn by either the Hero or Angelo. They can be bought in Pickham for 1,100 gold and sold for 550 gold.

Dragon Quest XI[]

The iron helmet can be bought for 1100 gold in Gondolia or Octagonia. It can only be equipped by the Hero, Sylvando and Eight. It grants +16 defense but can be upgraded to +17, +18 or +19 defense in the fun sized forge. It can also be made in the fun-sized forged after picking up the I ♥ Iron Armour alchemy book in Laguna di Gondolia using two Iron ore and two Glass frits.
