The Jia Kut Clan (ジア・クト念晶体, Formerly known as 異界滅神の一族 - Alien God Clan) are a clan of Demon Gods in Dragon Quest X. While for most part humanoid beings, the Jia Kut Clan has also converted a number of monsters into crystalline servants, which they use as their foot soldiers.
A very strictly hierarchical species, their crystalline body is substained by a single gem-like core where, similarly to an organic brain, their memories, feelings, and even power is stored.

Dragon Quest X[]
The Jia Kut are a race of crystal-based lifeforms that hail from another dimension. Using their advanced technology, they traveled across dimensional boundaries into other worlds, invading, conquering, and exterminating other sentient species, until they eventually invaded the Eternal Cradle and began mineralizing all life there. The god of the Eternal Cradle entrusted the power of creation to the younger god Luciana and commanded her to flee the dying world. One member of the Jia Kut, Jia Gonuba, was sent in pursuit of her. Meanwhile, the fight against the people of the Eternal Cradle took a turn for the worst for the Jia Kut, who fled the planet after being partially cursed when they came into contact with a powerful life-ending anathema. Due to this curse, the Jia Kut Clan became incapable to naturally produce creation power like other living beings could. Now they were required to constantly feed on creation energy in order to survive, or else their bodies would harden completely and cause them to die out.
After many years journeying through space, Luciana and the other survivors reached a primordial planet, and with the power of creation, they began moulding it into a new fertile world, Astoltia. Meanwhile, Jia Gonuba eventually caught up to them, and just the night before Astoltia could be made invisible to the Kia Kut, he was able to enter the atmosphere, being mistaken for a shooting star.
Some time after his crashlanding on Astoltia, four sages were sent to investigate, and after seeing his terrifing powers, using the power Goddess Luciana had bestowed upon them, the four sages sealed away his ability of crystallise other lifeforms. However, when Jia Gonuba's mineralization powers were sealed, it caused his body to mutate, turning it into a "grotesque lump of flesh", and causing it to spew out massive quantities of a magic-infused fog that would come to be known as "demon miasma". Since then, both by himself and with his demonic miasma, Jia Gonuba, now better known as Jagonuba, has been thorns to the side of Luciana and all of her followers and creations, with their battle lasting centuries, and having repercussions for many more millenia.
Eventually, ages later, not much time after the final mutual destruction of both Jagonuba and Luciana, a plot hatched by some Angels who had been corrupted by the red mist left floating in the ruins of their ancient city after that disastrous attack from the Jia Kut, was enacted, which culminated in the shield protecting Astoltia from the eyes of the Jia Kut Clan to be destroyed, and the ancient enemy found once again the descendants of the Cradle.
Following the death of their leader Jia Red Genos, who had merged with the core of the Jia Kut birthplace, the Eye of Evil, which ended up subsequently destroyed to prevent it to violently crash on Astoltia, with no other survivors, the entire Jia Kut race was effectively wiped out, leaving only Jia Rube, who had defected in retaliation of Genos's treatment of her and her brother Jia Saphir, as the sole member of the species left.
Due to this, she became the new Primstone of her species by default, and was painfully forced to inherit the will and memories of Genos. Now calling herself Rube Genos, with her previous personality completely overwritten, she attempted to force her way towards the sacred deification altar, and then bargain with the Hero once caught in the act: in exchange for allowing Genos to undergo the deification process and become a god, she would share the Jia Kut's knowledge and technology with Astoltia. This, as correctly guessed by Lada Ghat, turned out to be a lie, as they in truth were planning to not honor the deal at all, and Genos was stopped by Lada Ghat and the Hero, mortally wounding her. With her gone, the entire race became extinct, but not before Rube Genos promising that the karma of wiping out a sentient race would catch up to the people of Astoltia. This would later be proven to be the Curse of Unmaking from the Eternal Cradle, which the Jia Kut transferred to Astoltia, putting the world in danger of disappearing.
Only the monsters that were transformed into crystalline beings remain after the Jia Kut extinction, which complicates the Angels' efforts to better understand the origins of the Jia Kut.
Eventually, Jia Garnet, a sole survivor, was found deep within the Hadin Underground Cave and got left behind to rot by the Jia Kut when they invaded Astoltia.

Trivia[]
- The Hackson Five from Dragon Quest IX are similar to the Jia Kut Clan, being a clan of Demon Gods.
- According to the evil Jia Red Genos during his battle, he had last assumed his most powerful form when he and his clan destroyed the "blue fairies". Since Kyrurex's species has been the past referred as such, this could mean that his time-manipulating species is among the many others that were wiped out by the interstellar clan of invaders.
